Southport provided a distinctive beach experience, requiring a 20-minute walk before the coastline came into view, which occasionally gave the illusion of being in the middle of a desert. The advantage, however, was that the lengthy stroll discouraged many visitors, resulting in an almost exclusive beach experience for us.
